Re-evaluate Your Opponents
Posted in Fun Things, Gaming Hall, Lady Luck's Lair on July 27th, 2010The best Everest Poker players change their style throughout a game to keep their opponents guessing, so you need to keep figuring out how their playing as it progresses. When you sit down at a poker online game, it’s natural to start trying to get a read on how your opponents are playing. After a little while, you’ll start to get an idea of how your opponents will be playing against you, thinking things like “that guy’s playing every hand, he seems loose,” or “That girl never limps in, she may be more aggressive.”
It’s a huge step to start figuring out how your opponents are playing, but your tougher opponents are going to count on you getting a read on how they play, and after a while might try to change up their style. A tighter player might loosen up later on in the poker online game, and a more passive player may grow more aggressive as the game progresses. If you have a player pegged as a tight player in the beginning of the game and he starts to loosen up his style and bluff more, you might end up folding hands that you may have won otherwise.
Once you’ve got a bead on your opponents’ playing styles, don’t stop observing-keep an eye on them and watch for any changes in their game, and you’ll be one step ahead for the entire tournament.
